Excellent things are happening on Martin Acres! Cousins Obiora and Ajani Embry, have recently been featured in an article entitled: “Martin Acres is the Place to Be” by Lee Morgan in Middle Tennessee’s ‘Local Table’ Magazine. This feature highlights the brothers’ unique agricultural practices and their ethical gardening initiative.

After exploring elements of a sustainable lifestyle, the twins have learned how to revive and regenerate the land on Martin Acres. Together they created “Getting Back To Nature” an organization that promotes their diverse growing projects and the wide array of products they harvest. The brothers look to expand their ideals, while passing on their agricultural knowledge to future generations of Martins.

“If a journey of 10,000 miles begins with the first step, the path to regenerative agriculture on Martin Acres began with twin brothers Obiora and Irucka Ajani Embry, 6th Generation Martins, who started this project on 2 acres of land in 2013. The original goal was to create an edible forest garden, but over the years their vision evolved as they experienced both successes and failures in their venture. After 7 long years, their successes are based in their combined resiliency and the polyculture ecosystem they have created. The Brothers’ adventure incorporates Regenerative Gardening, Permaculture practices, Biodynamic Agrohomeopathy, Companion Planting, and Love. “
